Turning old

Scotty is another year older as of yesterday. If this keeps up it won't be long before he turns old! The kids and I kept asking and asking what we could get him as a gift, but since he never told us anything we just decided to skip a day of school and clean the house really, really well. He loved it and said it was the best thing we could've done and better than any gift we could have bought! That was great to hear. Now I would love to be the kind of super woman who everyday can teach school, entertain and potty train the little one, shop for and cook nutritious meals, and keep a lovely, clean house- with a smile on my face all the while. Not only does reality not allow time for all of those things, but I have never been a neat and tidy sort of girl :-( This gift was a sacrifice of love for sure, and I hate to admit, but we had our work cut out for us. This place was a mess. Not to mention that today we are trying to catch up on the school work we skipped yesterday which is never a fun, stress-free adventure. However, the clean house makes it better.

P.S. This weekend I will make him his favorite pineapple upside-down cake.
